I’m not sleeping.

I have a new job which is quite intense and time-consuming. Fueling my desire to get things done in “week-end” projects. So here is what I did:

  1. Hi,

    about Distortion

With settings Drive-0 even-0 highs-1.0 (highs 1p lp?) sound up in gain by 4 db.

Output gain control not a bad thing.

    • Hi Bob,
How about lowering the output by 4 db instead? I don’t like the idea of a 4th knob. I should update the distortion, there is other problems.

  2. Hi again,
ok, but anyway when up-drive harder volume up too, of course and Lp to compensate this not a best thing. And in case driving harder and using Lp to compensate volume, filter olready “overdriven” with too loud signal.

Cpu very low with 16x oversampling.. But, is it necessary?..

    • Bob,

      Thanks for feedback.

It’s true that volume compensation is comically bad on this plugin. I think fixing the volume compensation comes first but it’s hard. That doesn’t mean we don’t need post-gain too. You shouldn’t be forced to compensate with the 2p LP.

      > Cpu very low with 16x oversampling.. But, is it necessary?..

Er… at 44100hz, yes, it does make a difference. I’m not exactly satisfied withe the kind of oversampling done here, next udpate will be less phasey and more aliasey instead. There is also a problem with the processing which happen even on silent input.

It was a first plugin in your line, so it’s more like a sketch, at moment.

    > at 44100hz, yes, it does make a difference. I’m not exactly satisfied withe the kind of oversampling done here, next udpate will be less phasey and more aliasey instead.

Yeah, but at 48000 or 96000 (for example)… if plugin not dropping sample rate automatically. Or maybe making switchable for the user.

    > There is also a problem with the processing which happen even on silent input.

Yes it is, I noticed that. Also when moving even knob on silent input, some short spikes occur on spectrum (tested with span).

    Thanks for the reply,
    Cheers.
